Call AT&T for the Best iPhone Upgrade Price

Yes, I understand that phone companies make money by locking you into a service contract which normally lasts a couple of years.

But I still wish there was a way somehow to purchase an iPhone for $99 instead of an iPod Touch that costs over $200 with fewer functions. Wouldn't that be nice.

What's sad is that there are supposedly smart folks out there who don't see this obvious point. I could start a rant about what we teach in schools (like basic finance) but that is off topic here (no much) and would quickly turn into a war. :(

The point is slightly misleading though, for the simple reason that
for most of us, we're going to be paying a monthly cell phone bill
whether or not it's for an iPhone, and more & more people are opting
for smartphones with data plans as well.

So from that point of view, the additional cost of an iPhone may be
partly or wholly a wash.

Yep. I need a family plan and unlimited data for all but one of those
phones. So the cell plan costs are a given, and at least between AT&T and
Sprint, the difference was a wash for me.
