New 2009 13"/15" Macbook Pro Sata Speed limited to 1.5Gps

Hi, I've been reading on many posts on macrumors & the apple support forums that the SATA speed on the new 13" & 15" Macbook Pros just released at WWDC is capped at 1.5Gps vs the 3.0Gps for the late October 2008 Unibody Macbook & Macbook Pros. Can anyone else confirm this? For those using higher end SSD drives this can be quite a bottleneck. A bit of letdown considering these are Pro machines.

If this is true, does anyone know if speed cap is a hardware or software restriction?
