iTunes 8.2 not syncing podcasts correctly to iPhone

- 05:30am Jun 8, 2009 PSTvia emailI subscribe to about 30 podcasts on my Mac, but only want part of that
on my iPhone.
I selected 6 podcasts on the iPhone's "Podcasts" tab, and restrict
synch to "Die 5 ersten ungespielten" (5 first unplayed).
I get totally weird results on my iPhone:
- Some podcasts only contain one track, although several tracks have
the blue dot on my Mac.
- Some podcasts contain all tracks.
Any ideas what might have gone wrong?

I'm having a very similar problem: I have it set to sync all unplayed podcasts, but every time I even connect the device (8 GB iPod touch 1G) it resets them ALL to unplayed. I'm SURE this is an 8.2 problem... let's see if the official 3.0 firmware fixes this.

I had similar problems and here is how I fixed it on my machine. Your problems may be different. Anyway, there is a smart folder playlist named "Podcasts List" under the "Music" tab in the "Devices" section that appears when you plug your iPhone into your Mac for syncing. Uncheck the "Podcasts List.". After doing this, the settings you have created under "Podcasts" tab will prevail and sanity will be restored.

Ooops, I had a Smart Folder that collected items added during the last
10 days. When I redefined it to ignore podcasts, trouble was gone.
