TidBITS: App store mail list

Apple does a pretty good job of informing me about new material in the
iTunes music store. I get periodic mailings with new artists, albums
and songs.

I would like to see a similar service for the App store. I've been
visiting and buying occasionally but it's hard to find the new stuff
buried under the apps that I've already perused. I'd like to get a
once-a-week or semi-occasional mailing that gives the total number of
applications available and highlights all the new ones. If that's not
possible, I'd like to see the iTunes App store search engine add a
feature... the search item "new." Or, better yet, "new since my last
visit."

Anyone else think this would be useful or have alternative suggestions?
