One type of software I couldn't find any reviews of in the TidBITS
archive was recipe management software. Some brief searching found
the following:

MacGourmet

Features I'm interested in are simple recipe storage, easy sharing
(email/printing/web), a cooking view (large font, easy to read from a
few feet away), and possibly shopping list help (either just list
generation or integration with shopping software like Splash Shopper).
I'd be interested to hear about others' experiences and/or needs with
any of these, perhaps we can generate enough responses to form the
first TidBITS Talk article.

Re: Mac Recipe Software Comparisons
Do you have opinions on A Cook’s Books or Recipe Manager or MacGourmet? I can see I’m spending more time researching meal planner software than I did converting to iMac from the pc in March 2009.
I like the RecipeMark app, but it has no nutritional information. And when I add food to the Lose It! app, I’ve already over eaten.
I miss my MasterCook’s nutritional analysis and meal planning aspects.

You might take a look at CalorieKing. It is not recipe management
application, but it has a large database of food and their nutritional
values.

Re: Mac Recipe Software Comparisons
I did a comparison of a couple of Mac Recipe programs a while back:
http://www.halostatue.ca/2008/11/23/mac-recipe-management-programs/
I'm also going to revisit these at some point, but I'm in the final
four weeks of prepping for a house move, so I'm not getting as much
time to do any of this stuff as I'd like.
My needs were somewhat specialized, but I highly recommend the three
that I'm revisiting. The only one that had nutrition information, I
think, is MacGourmet, but you need to add the Nutrition plug-in or
purchase MacGourmet Deluxe from Mariner Software.
I haven't yet purchased the MacGourmet app for the iPhone, but this
sounds like it would be a great thing for shopping. I'm hoping that
Ben Lachman of Acacia Tree Software (behind SousChef) is able to do
something, too, because SousChef is a very nice piece of software.

See the comparison review I wrote for TidBITS. It's 1.5 years old now
but still holds up as little has changed out there in that time.
SousChef has come along and a few iPhone apps have also come along and
I do have as an outstanding task in OmniFocus to return to the article
and write an update covering these things... one day... one day... but
it still holds up today, I think. In fact, MacGourmet has, in my
opinion, just gotten better. The Meal Planner is quite well done and
worth a good look.
