Secure Transfer Using Civil Netizen and Pando

I'm not sure what the interest is with Civil Netizen/Pando.

There are over fifty file transfer web sites on the net, see an incomplete list
at:

<http://www.jdempsey.com/2005/12/08/free-online-file-storagesending/>

(a list I saw elsewhere listed 83 such services).

True, they are not encrypted, but the easiest way to solve that is to
just use Disk Utility to create a disk image from a folder and enable
encryption.

Also, if you create an Amazon S3 account (which is free to do), you
can use it to store your files securely on a trusted host for a cost
of around half a cent for a 10 MB file that is uploaded, stored for a
month and then downloaded once and.

<http://aws.amazon.com/s3>

Also, for Interarchy users, I've just posted a blog article
describing an AppleScript droplet I wrote to let you automate the
Amazon S3 process, so you simply drop a file on the droplet and it
will use Interarchy to upload the file to a predetermined Amazon S3
bucket within a randomly named directory and then display the URL you
can email.

Enjoy,
    Peter.

Check out Interarchy 8.1.1, just released, now with Amazon S3 support.

These solutions are all frail compared to Tango DropBox Pro which allows you to export locked accounts using SSL/TSL - this app rocks!  http://etonica.com/dropbox/index.html

Would be interesting to see if there is a list of file transfer solutions targeted at enterprise users with the added regulations and compliance issues. I have wrote up my observations on the likes of Pando in the context of enterprise secure file transfer at:

Warm regards, YFJ
