Now that there are betas of Vista in fairly wide circulation, has
anyone tried it on a MacBook using either Boot Camp or Parallels?
I'm wondering if a 1GB MacBook would have enough "oomph" to run
applications in Vista at a decent speed. (I'm wondering about
productivity apps, not games.)

Thanks.

Dave

Couldn't get it to work.

Worked fine.

You have to turn down that annoying and ugly vista effects to get
decent performance. Course, I have to do that on my PC as well. On
both machines it did not seem significantly slower than XP.
Significantly more annoying, yes. Slower, no.

Rent a flat above a shop, cut your hair and get a job, smoke some
fags and play some pool, pretend you never went to school and still
you'll never get it right cuz when you're lay'n in bed at night
watching the roaches climb the wall if you called your dad he could
stop it all.

Thanks.

Among other things I'll need to run demos, so turning off the glass
window borders, etc., won't fly. Thanks for the info though - I
guess I'll /have/ to get a MacBook Pro! :)

How have you done that?

I tried to install Vista Beta2 B5387 onto Parallels with Parallels setting to 'Other Windows' because Vista is not yet listed.

I get the error status 0xc0000225 and the message "Windows failed to load because the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible."
