KisMac help

[michelle@pyrusmalus.com]michelle@pyrusmalus.com - 08:16am May 2, 2006 PST

Hi there, I wondered if anyone has managed to get KisMac working. http://kismac.binaervarianz.de/

I am trying to check that others are not using my wireless network. KisMac apparently lets you do this. I can see wireless networks but can not get any info on them. I am running it on an iBook G4.

Anyone have any ideas if they have used this software before.

[I used it when writing a chunk of "Take Control of Your Wi-Fi Security," and it was relatively easy to use, as I remember. The only trick then was that it only worked with older AirPort (not AirPort Extreme) cards, but I believe there's a new version that works with more cards. -Adam]

I haven't used KisMac but apple have a widget that may or may not be useful to you, it's called AirTraffic Control and is available here

it tells you the type of encryption being used by the access point etc etc

That's not Apple's.
