Mighty Mouse hardware easter egg

I like the Mighty Mouse that came with my iMac, but it does seem a bit
pricey as an add-on accessory of you buy it separately. Now, perhaps,
we know why:

Lift it up in a dark room and the light pattern on your desk looks
like the face of a mouse. I tried it, and yes, it works.

This isn't specific to the Mighty Mouse. My perfectly ordinary Apple
single-button one-and-a-bit year old mouse produces exactly the same
pattern. You do have to hold it at about a 45 degree angle to get the shape
right, but it's clearly the same. I also see that someone in the Ars
Technica discussion forum says that Apple's optical mice have always done
this.

Tilting the mouse differently elongates the ears so the animal looks
like a rabbit instead of a mouse. The Easter Bunny!
