Photo Printing Services for Business Use

I've read through some of the discussion here about on line photo
printing services. The only ones that might apply seem to be from around
2002 and that's 4000 years in this topic.

A staff member has asked to use Shutter Fly to print 50 or more prints
that were taken with a digital camera. This is something that we'll do
more and more. I'm not against it but just want to make sure that
Shutter Fly isn't a bad choice (their software download gives me pause)
or that there isn't a much better choices out there.

Requirements are:
Upload batches of 30 to 100 photos.
8x10 max. archiveable prints
good to excellent printing quality
Reasonable Cost
2nd Day (i.e. quick) Delivery

Thank You
David Ross

You can try Costco if you are a Costco member. Just go to costco.com
and click on the photo center tab. They do everything you are looking
for and I have been very pleased with their service.

[OK, last recommendation of Costco. :-) -Adam]

If you have Costco nearby, you should definitely check them out. They
will deliver to you or you can send it to some stores. I've picked up
4x6 and 5x7 in as little as a an hour. Haven't used 8x10 as yet, but
they offer it.

Does it REALLY need to be online?

I mean, Costo, Walgreens, Kroger... they will all make prints from
digital source. Not sure they all do 8x10, but any decent photo lab
should be able to do it.

If there is a Costco in your area, check it out. Go online to
costco.com & click on the PHOTO CENTER link. You can upload your
images and pick up the prints an hour later. I haven't tried their
delivery service.

I'm very happy with the quality I get, as well as the price ($0.17
each for 4X6 prints).

This is a firm others should study. (If they'd allow it.) Time IS money.
They prove it. They are a very productive architectural firm. A service
where you can upload 70 photos before say 3 PM and get them the next day
DELIVERED is gold as it means the staff generating the income instead to
trekking around dropping off and picking up things.

Re: Photo Printing Services for Business Use

If you have a Wal-Mart nearby, you can upload photos through
walmart.com for pickup in an hour from the local store. Most of them
are 24-hours nowadays as well. The in store labs can do 4x6, 5x7 and
8x10. Other options are available as well through the same Fujicolor
processing labs that handle the store's "send-out" film processing.
Those can be shipped to you directly or picked up at the store, pre-
paid from the website. Both versions of the service print on archival
photographic paper. I've had good luck with the services printing my
landscapes for resale.

The other services I can recommend are Adorama (www.adorama.com) or
Sony ImageStation (www.imagestation.com).
