iPod bags

Although the Delapod bag mentioned in the last TidBITS isn't geared toward a guy
like me, I've seen other bags/backpacks/briefcases with similar design where the
iPod sticks out.

I don't like them. Two reasons mainly:

- I don't like having it that obvious I have an iPod. I already lost one iPod
due to my own stupidity, I don't want to lose another to thievery. This is one
of the reasons I don't use white headphones.

- I don't think the iPod is that well protected.

What I want is a bag that takes advantage of the remote control connector. I
want a messenger style bag with a shoulder strap where the headphones plug into
the shoulder strap, and there are remote control buttons in the strap. The ipod
sits nice and snug and invisible in a small padded case inside the bag.

Heck I've already got a messenger style bag that I like, why not just make a
replacement shoulder strap that I can buy and use with my existing bag.

If you want to be really stealthy, get something from
SCOTTeVEST; they have wiring in clothing.

Burton has one with a remote in the shoulder strap.

Personally, I listen to album shuffle at least 95% of the
time, so I leave the iPod in my belt clip and just play/pause/volume
with the remote. I almost never look at its pretty color display.
Despite moving almost exclusively from belt clip to Mac and back, the
screen is still pretty scratched up (true for the last couple iPods
as well), so I can't say Apple's belt clips are good protection...
