USB 2 hub for Tiger

Hi,

Is there a USB 2 hub which works with Tiger, on a G5? I tried one and was
given the message that it did not have enough power... which was strange as
it had its own power supply.

Alas, I can't remember the name of that hub as I have since returned it to
the store, but it wasn't a Belkin.

I wouldn't mind a hub with six ports...

Paul

PS Alternatively, is there something I should have tried to make that
returned hub work on Tiger? Is it a patch problem again?

Re: USB 2 hub for Tiger

It must have been a problem with the no name hub I originally bought. I
received a message saying that the USB hub did not have enough power.

I bought a "BlueEye" four port USB2 hub and it is working on the G5.

My apologies to Apple for suggesting that Tiger was the problem!

Paul

Any USB 2.0 hub that meets the USB 2.0 specification requirements should
work with your G5. Unfortunately, it has been very clear since the
beginning of USB that USB hubs are not all created equil. There is no
USB 2.0 hub that is head and shoulders better than the rest, as the
discontinued and lamented Pertech hub was for USB 1.1. However this hub
has been building an enthusiastic following:

This Kensington hub has some thoughtful features. It is a weighted dome
that doesn't tend to move around on your desk, and it isn't as ugly as
most USB hubs. It also has a very convenient port on its very top, which
is perfect for connecting a pen drive or iPod Shuttle to.
