Glenn Fleishman paints a seductive picture of how Spotlight will change
the way we store and access data.

How will this affect back up strategies? I don't back up everything on
my HD at the moment but tell Retrospect what to focus on, namely
folders of irreplaceable personal material. If Spotlight lulls us into
leaving this data in a more and more disorganised state how can back up
software sift the wheat from the chaff?

This shareware program may be a solution, syncupX. I just saw this program listed today on VersionTracker. Previously you could only drag folders to it for backup selection but recently the option to drag saved searches was added.
