Mini power supply

option to buy an extra two power supply with the mini. I'd certainly have
ordered one for say, $20, in order to be able to use the mini in two places.

Tangentially related I've been spelunking around for the long cable
that goes with Apple's white power brick. (i.e. for Dual-USB G3
iBooks/G4 iBooks/recent Power Macs) Everywhere I've inquired or
looked only sells the whole brick. I was trying to see if I could
set up several "power stations" around the house. Anyone have any
ideas?

Well, if you're not worried about colour coordination, the lead that
goes between the power brick and the wall uses a standard connector
(an IEC C8 plug, I believe), so you should be able to buy one at any
electronics store. For example:

The socket for the cable in the power brick is an industry standard,
which also used on, e.g., power adapters for digicam battery chargers
or external power supplies for external hard drives. Therefore, you can
use any power cable that has a plug that fits into that two-prong
socket in the white brick. Won't look as neat and may not interlock
with the power brick as well as the original cable with that
block-shaped plug; but from a technical point of view, it will work
just as well.
Jochen.

I assume you mean the long AC power cord. The only place I have seen
them is as a part of the AirPort Express Stereo Connection Kit with
Monster Cables. At $39, it's an expensive way to get an extension
cord.

Re: Mini power supply
Pricing from Small Dog:
661-3463, Power Adapter, 85 W for the Mac Mini, plus the Power Cord,
922-6676, Power Cord, USA, would be $109 plus shipping.
I guess I might take a pass at this price!
