Anyone using GoodPage?

[mixtli]mixtli - 08:34pm Mar 29, 2005 PST

I just downloaded a copy of GoodPage, the program that was in the recent DealBITS drawing. I just downloaded it and like the way it looks. Unfortunately, the creators think it is completely intuitive and have provided no help resources.

[Yeah, I have to say that I was a little surprised about the lack of a manual too. There are very few programs that can get by without one, and I rather doubt any HTML authoring tool counts. Heck, just dealing with HTML and CSS isn't that easy. -Adam]

For example, I loaded in the index file from my personal homepage (very smooth). It even showed that there was a formatting error in the html code I had originally. The index file I have uses css, but I do not know how to load that css file into the GoodPage setup. There is no information that I can find on how to do this. Does anyone have a line on the help available for this program?

Jay

There is no need to load CSS file explicitly. It is all done for you...

But you need to have html document without syntax errors. You can
correct errors in Code view. It's rather obvious, since you will not be
able to do anything else until the html is OK.

GoodPage will automatically retrieve all the external resources. You
will find all CSS styles/stylesheets in Document inspector, under
Styles/Stylesheets tab. There's a menu item Info View/Drawer - Document
(CSS), which shows you this inspector, and also toolbar icon (drawer
with blue ball - already in the default setup)...

Almost everything about GoodPage can be learned just by looking at the
application menus.

Also, the support at goodpage.info is a real email address. We do
respond there to any question about the program. It's under "GoodPage"
-> "Contact" menu...

When there's no fancier solution at hand, on a Mac you can always copy and
paste!

GoodPage looks fantastically well-designed. The multiple views are
terrific--now I just have to learn what they mean - !
