AirPort Express will possibly be the most submitted hardware suggestion. I know it's on MY Ca$hmas list. And extra Wi-Fi broadcast point AND iTunes sharing. Nice.

Speaking of which, does anyone know which non-Apple access points are WDS-compatible with the AirPort Express?

I found this:

[Cool hack! There was some WDS compatibility with Buffalo gear early on, but we heard later that it went away - it's possible that firmware updates to either device in this technique might also cause problems down the road. -Adam]

In his review of the AirPort Express for Ars Technica, Eric Bangeman
wrote that they successfully used the AirPort Express to do bridging
with a Linksys WRT54G router updated with open source firmware.

Similarly, I have successfully extended the range of a Belkin F5D7230-4
802.11g wireless router using an AirPort Express and WDS. Unlike the
Linksys, the Belkin router required no firmware update, but I had to
configure the AirPort Express manually. Apple's automatic WDS
configuration works only with its base stations.

Actually, I just bought a Buffalo WBR2-G54 router, and it works GREAT
with the Express and WDS. Helpful instructions here:

Have fun!

I also have a Belkin F5D7230-4, however, I am having trouble getting it to work with the Airport Express. Do you happen to have a procedure which you used to get yourse to work? I've tried several times seting up the WDS (mainly using some instructions for linksys systems) but my airport express keeps blinking yellow and is only seen by my computer when the ethernet cable is plugged into it.

Even with a brand new Extreme and Express,
getting the Express to appear in the Admin
utility took tens of soft reboots (20 - 30); the
reset button was no help. WDS never worked. Once
I got the Express visible in the admin utility, I
had to join the Extreme network manually; the
Express never even admitted to finding the
Extreme wireless network.
