Flash Problem

Has anybody encountered a problem where the Adobe Flash Player just stops working after years of no problems. On websites that use Flash, such as "YouTube" a message appears. For YouTube the message is:
I have downloaded and installed the "latest" Flash player several times, but to no avail. I have not turned off Java, that I know of and can't find "javascript" on my computer.
I would appreciate any words of advice. I am considering reloading the operation system for a fresh start.
My computer is a PowerBook G4 15" (my desktop is unaffected) with the latest updates to 10.5. Memory is 512 MB.

Make sure it's checked.

Re: Flash Problem
Hi JD, I had different problems - any text I typed into a Web form wouldn't echo back onto the screen. This drove me nuts for weeks until I found out you now have to use an uninstall program to get rid of your current version of Flash before you can reinstall it. After going through this extra step, I'm once again seeing what I'm typing. You can find the uninstaller here http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
