Mac OS X 10.5.4 Issue
louis_roberts (apparently)
- 03:05am Jul 3, 2008 PSTvia emailJust downloaded and installed on my Intel iMac. Required reboot, whereupon
none of the files/folders resident on my desktop were visible. The "places/Desktop" link knew about the files, they just didn't show up.
Eeek.
Fix: Display resolution > 1280x800, Millions THEN back to 1920x1200, Millions
All back to normal, now. Anyone else seen this?

Re: Mac OS X 10.5.4 Issue
I just downgraded back to 10.5.3. My computer was very screwed up by
the update (used the combo updater). The Finder was freezing and had
to hard shutdown. Could not find a remedy. First time in many years
where the combo updater resulted in such a screw-up. I may try the
Software Update version.
Oh, and thankfully I had (as a practice) made a SuperDuper clone
before attempting the update. Took 15 minutes to get back to 10.5.3.
Regards,
Howard

Re: Mac OS X 10.5.4 Issue
Have the same problem but changing the screen resolution didn't fix it. As nothing else seems to be wrong am living with it. I can get the desktop to show as a window in the finder.
