Re: Snow Leopard
Somebody, somewhere, mentioned Snow Leopard as having catering to
multiple processors in it's dream list of perfections. Might that
mean something absolutely terrifying: like 64 or 128 intel
processors on a daughter board, more or less efficiently stalking
it's tasks at 50 to 100 times the speed of a single processor ?
It would need water cooling. Diverted to the dishwasher and laundry
in these modern times ;-) of course. Or is it just a shocking
nightmare for us who only have a 'One Meow Intel Solo ?'

We will be seeing 16 core machines very soon, and 32 core ones in the
not to distant future. I would not be surprised to see a 10.6 Xserve
with 64 cores in the next two years.

Really depends on the size of the enclosure. Chips are getting much
more efficient (read, cooler). The question is, would a 64 core
machine at---say---1.8Ghz each be much more efficient than a 32 core
machine at 2.5Ghz each?
