PALM:
I'm not dead!
IPHONE:
'Ere. He says he's not dead!
CUSTOMER:
Yes, he is.
PALM:
I'm not!
IPHONE:
He isn't?
CUSTOMER:
Well, he will be soon. He's very ill.
PALM:
I'm getting better!
CUSTOMER:
No, you're not. You'll be stone dead in a moment.
IPHONE:
Oh, I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.
PALM:
I don't want to go in the clearance bin!
CUSTOMER:
Oh, don't be such a baby.
IPHONE:
I can't take him.
PALM:
I feel fine!
CUSTOMER:
Well, do us a favour.
IPHONE:
I can't.
CUSTOMER:
Well, can you hang around a couple of minutes? He won't be long.
IPHONE:
No, I've got to go to Tmobile. They've lost nine today.
CUSTOMER:
Well, when's your next round?
IPHONE:
Thursday.
PALM:
I think I'll go for a walk.
CUSTOMER:
You're not fooling anyone, you know. Look. Isn't there something
you can do?
PALM: [singing]
I feel happy. I feel happy.
IPHONE:
[whops PALM on the head]
CUSTOMER:
Ah, thanks very much.
IPHONE:
Not at all. See you on Thursday.
(with sincerest apologies. really)

Re: Palm Centro is an ex-Parrot
The article on the Palm Centro was interesting; having been a longtime Palm Treo user, from a Treo 180, 600, 650, there seemed to be ever diminishing development in the platform, which is a shame. Some time ago, a Treo 680 was sourced to replace my 650, but the bluetooth handsfree functionality proved very troublesome. Despite applying updates to my Parrot kit and the camera update to the Treo, the problems persisted, and in the end the 680 became an expensive paperweight, and the Treo 650 has had to soldier on to this day. This has made me lose confidence in the Palm platform.
The Centro is an attractive product at a good price, but does it have the same bluetooth flaws as the 680 which were never fixed? The Parrot site lists it as compatible, but then again it also lists the Treo 680 :-(

Re: Palm Centro is an ex-Parrot
Query for anyone using a Palm-based phone, who knows:
Will any of them take an external antenna? I need one in some field work.
My old Kyocera 6035 did, but using a very flimsy port on the back that I had to resolder several times, that's finally died completely.
I'm stuck with Verizon, have to get a replacement that works with them.
Then take it to the woods and see if I can get reception; if not, try adding an external antenna.
Anyone know if the Centro or Treo models can handle this?
