Google, Firefox & MacBookPro
via email - Dave Clark
Over time, I've generally used Firefox as my browser both when I was
a Windoze person and now for two years on the Mac.
Over that same time, I've also set up several Google things -- two
blogs, subscribed to usenet/googlegroups, and even a google calendar.
In Firefox, I like the security settings that delete all browsing
history, clear the cache, etc. But, I leave the cookies since many
sites require their use -- including Google to do almost anything.
Now, despite my best efforts, Google is suddenly telling me every
time that I have cookies disabled, so it can't let me sign in. I've
repeatedly unchecked/rechecked/unchecked cookies and allowed all of
them to set until they expire. Several times I've gone in, deleted
all cookies, then allowed them all to set, again until they expire.
And, I even uninstalled (put into the trash) Firefox, downloaded the
latest version, and reinstalled it.
Still, Google tells me I have cookies disabled and it won't let me
sign in. That is simply wrong.
Safari doesn't do this, but I'm not ready to switch just because
Google gets disabled.
Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
