Sleep issue

Since upgrading to Leopard I can't put my G4 into sleep mode - it kind
of freezes and I have to turn it off by keeping my finger pressed on
the on/off button. I have upgraded to 10.5.2. Everything else seems to
work OK. Any suggestions most welcome.

I have seen the same issue. I had thought that it was because I had
installed it on a G4 that did not quite meet the minimum standards for
leopard.

So far I have found no solution, short of shutting down instead of
sleeping.

I used to have a similar problem with my G4, also with getting it to
wake up when it would go to sleep.

You might want to try NMS Sleep Assist from Sliced Apple:

It worked for me.

Re: Sleep issue

I am having the same problem with a G5. I try to put it to sleep, it goes down then wakes up immediately. Wonder if this is a hardware problem?

Re: Sleep issue

Could the problem be with something you have connected to your G-5? E.g., I have a CanoScan Lide 500F that I use with my G-4 PowerBook. If I leave the scanner connected (via USB2), it will waken the PB within a few minutes of my putting it to sleep.
