Print Problem on PDF Form

[hankatlma]hankatlma (apparently) - 04:04am Feb 19, 2008 PST

Need to fill in form delivered as PDF, opened by NisusWriter.

When adding typed text to form, line for answer lengthens with every
letter, making it impossible to insert answers properly and distorting
form.

Similar separate form with information, not set up for adding text,
allows typed content without adding anything else to page, or changing
print already on page. Additional typed text added to printed line
shows properly without distorting standing text.

Using Panther on six-yr'old eMac. Anything else copied works fine,
accepts print additions with no problem.

Anyone have a clue ?

I recommend that, instead of opening the form in NisusWriter, that
you use this wonderful free program to fill in your PDF form:

Formulate (free)
http://adlr.info/?FormulateOld

or

FormulatePro (free)
http://code.google.com/p/formulatepro/

Formulate will open your PDF and allow you to quickly and easily fill
in the blanks, without altering the original PDF. Formulate will
even allow you to fill in locked PDF forms.

Formulate comes with a practice form that will teach you how to use
the program in just a few minutes.

Try deleting the line as you come to filling in: item by item. If
you do want the line; get it back by underlining the text: select
the text and 'Cmd U' or find a menu item for Underlining ? Hope that
it works. It depends on whether it is a cell rectangle, or produced
by typing "_'s" in the original.

Randy et al:
Thanks for reference to Formulate, which has become FormulatePro --and
now requires Tiger or later.
Problem now traces to Bend City computer system, undergoing
remediation. Mystery originally since one form sent suffered anomaly,
while another sent same time, same system, did NOT.
Another work-around surfaced, underway here to expedite
application, uses their printed forms to undergo scanning, then fill-in
on computerized form.

George:
Thanks for your ingenious solution to fill-in problem here. Set up
that way does work, could have used, but problem traced to Bend City
computer system and in process of remediation, with correct forms to
come via PDF rapidly.
as 90-yr/old NON-geek, surely do appreciate rapid assistance from
those out there who really know what they are doing...!!

Another nice feature of Formulate Pro is that enables you to enter any typeface and/or special character in your system.
