Wake Up, Little Keyboard
Vicky Hamilton - 09:28am Jan 1, 2008 PSTGuest UserI've already sent feedback to Apple, but the 1.1 security update has
thoroughly goofed up my Dock. Automatic hiding/showing is not
working, nor is magnification. Repair permissions and trashing the
dock prefs and db don't seem to help.
Wonder how many people are having the same problem. I'm running
10.5.1 on an aluminum PowerBook.

I had a similar problem, but with printers and Tiger, not Leopard: Using OS 10.4.11 on a MacBook, I upgraded using the Apple security update 2007-009 and found that my Epson Stylus inkjet C88 and my Brother HL2040 Laser printer were no longer visible to the operating system. I also updated my iBook running OS 10.4.11 with the same security update, with no problem. A Brother techie immediately declared the problem was with Apple's update; the Apple techie declared the problem was with Brother printer driver. I gave up, re-installed the OS 10.4.6, updated IT to 10.4.11, but without the security update. Printers are now visible. Later, I received an email from Epson which seemed to address the problem. I am now waiting for Apple to correct what I think is clearly an Apple problem: their security update on the intel macbook somehow messed the printer drivers. APPLE: ARE YOU LISTENING?.
