Leopard Envy and Tiger Inertia

I was excited to hear about the port-opening fix for the Back to my
Mac feature....listening to it in my car, I raced home to open the
required ports and see how my life would change for the
better....before I had a chance to test if from the nearest coffee
shop, I tried to access my online banking site (as I have done
flawlessly for 3+ years)...BUT, I could not access the site. While
troubleshooting with them, I discovered that I could not use ANY site
that required SSL communications....including shopping carts at
various places.

So, I'm back to square one....I am using a MP/Leopard 5.1/Safari 3.04
and a Netgear WNR854T....

Any ideas or thoughts on this? condolences are welcome, but fixes are
preferred :-)

cheers,
david

I think it's worth going home to a secure ethernet connection before
doing shopping or financial transactions unless you are incredibly
sure of your coffee shop's wireless security.
