Re: Running Adobe Products in Leopard

Adobe have for some reason decided not to update Photoshop Elements for Leopard rendering the application useless. I purchased their v.4 not long ago and that finishes Adobe for me. Sheer Extortion!

The intarweb holds the answer to this, and many other questions. From
<http://www.macworld.com/news/2007/09/24/elements/index.php>

"Adobe has released Photoshop Elements 6, a new version of the companyıs
consumer photo editing application. The new version has been released for
Windows only, with a Mac version expected from the company in early 2008."

Don't know about 4.0 . . . but 3.0 works fine under Leopard and I
imagine that we'll see 5.0 relatively soon. What are you having
trouble getting to work?

Where did you get this info?

I've seen postings on other groups that Photoshop Elements for Mac, a
version 6, will be issued in January or March (two reports).

I believe Version 4 is two years old, and I've had it on my iMac
since about April of 2006, on this MacBook since July of 2006.

A number of Mac websites have the same information as Mr. Welch
posts. It appears to have come from Adobe. So, PSE for Mac comes
out in January, 2008.

It was said: "Adobe has released Photoshop Elements 6, a new version of the company's consumer photo editing application. The new version has been released for Windows only, with a Mac version expected from the company in early 2008."

At our user group meeting last night, a local Adobe rep nudgedx2, winkedx2 that while it is officially "1st quarter", one might reasonably expect announcement of a new Elements for Mac around Macworld time.

And that's been my experience exactly, Neil; I'm SO glad I didn't
"upgrade" to v.4 when it came out!

Re: Running Adobe Products in Leopard

FWIW, I just installed a copy of Elements 4 on my PowerBook 1.5GHz, runining 10.5.1. It runs just fine on that machine. I suppose it might not work on an Intel machine, but since it's not a Universay Binary, I doubt that's the issue...

My suggestion would be to reinstall the program.

Good luck, John

Mid-January.
Specifically, January 14-18th.

Thanks. So, I'll wait until mid-January and Photoshop Elements for
Mac (probably ver 5 or 6) Universal Binary before getting the upgrade
to OS X 10.5.
