Encrypted disk images and Subversion

I am referring to "Unintelligible Garbage Is Your Friend" by Derek K. Miller (TidBits 6 Jun 2006)

<http://db.tidbits.com/article/8578>

Following Derek's excellent article I am using an encrypted disk image to store sensitive data. These data include my local copy of an SVN repository. Three times in the last two months, when I tried to update my local copy from the central SVN repository I got an error message indicating that my local copy is corrupted, and that no update is possible. When I deleted my local SVN copy in order to checkout a new one, I found that some files in the trash could be deleted in any way – unless I deleted the complete disk image.

Thus it seems that encrypted disk images and SVN do not cooperate without problems.
