I use QuickBase (an online app from Intuit) at work, but I'd much
rather use OmniPlan. OP is a perfect mix of simplicity and power. I
can't rave about it enough.

Re: Recommendation on Project Management Software?
"OpenProj is a free, open source desktop alternative to Microsoft
Project. If you want a free replacement to commercial desktop
software then OpenProj is perfect and availble on Linux, Unix, Mac or
Windows .... and free." "A desktop replacement for Microsoft Project. It is capable of
sharing files with Microsoft Project and has very similar
functionality (Gantt, PERT diagram, histogram, charts, reports,
detailed usage), as well as tree views which aren't in MS Project." < http://www.openproj.com/>

Re: Recommendation on Project Management Software?
I have played with the demo version of FastTrack Schedule 9 from AEC Software at
<www.aecsoftware.com>
and have been favorably impressed with its ease of use. It is also dual-platform and can import/export with MS Project, which helps in some company environments.

It also used to have a Palm component, and I'm sure it still does.
I love OmniPlan, it's gorgeous. I just wish I had better Project
Management SKILLs.

iTask is my favorite.
Though it hasn't been updated in a while.

Re: Recommendation on Project Management Software?
My project management needs are simple, so I just wonk Gantt charts and
timelines in Excel. But quite a few people that I've worked with rave
about Basecamp, and I've also seen it mentioned quite a few times on
some other lists I'm on:

Re: Recommendation on Project Management Software?
Are you trying to PM something huge or trying to keep your own todo list under control?
OmniPlan is still in its growth phase. I know some PMs that use it, but they also use OmniWeb.
I have been using OmniFocus to keep track of my personal todo list. It is for implementing the "Getting Things Done" ideas (google GTD and you will surely find out what it is if you don't know already).
OmniFocus is still in closed beta, but if you wanted to try it out, you can sign up to get on the beta list. I'll surely be buying it when it comes out.
