Monitor for MacBookPro Intel

I'm trying to use a 19" Acer LCD monitor with this MacBookPro Intel.

Some of the items show up on the Acer -- Dock, and my Mail inbox,
whereas other items -- New message , Firefox, are on the MBP.

I'd like to get everything on one screen, but don't really know how.

Oh, the mouse cursor works on both screens. It's a Logitech wireless.

BTW, a new wireless Apple Mac keyboard hooked with the MBP just fine
the first try.

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks very much.

Dave Clark

You just drag the windows to the other screen ...

When you add a second monitor to a Mac, you have two options - run a
two display desktop, or mirror the displays. You're currently running
two displays, it seems. To have everything appear on one displays
(actually, everything will appear on BOTH displays), you need to
click the "Mirror Displays" checkbox under Arrangement in the
Displays pane of System Preferences.

Hello David,

In your Displays control panel you can change some settings regarding
how multiple screens work.

You can setup your system to mirror the screens so they show the same
things:

<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh1551.html>

You can also (which is the default) use them as an "extended desktop":

<http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.4/en/mh798.html>

Hope that helps!

Cheers,

David

- You can drag windows from one screen to the other.
- if you want to switch the screen on the MBP off entirely, close the
lid.
- if you want the same image on both screens, press F7.
