Keep looking on Amazon. I got my renewal for $79.00 last month.

Re: .Mac renewal deals
Regarding Amazon:
They are still selling the 'old' box for $80. I ordered it last week
and received it yesterday. The enclosed material reference .Mac as of
late July, but I submitted the enclosed activator key to renew my
subscription and it was accepted.

Re: .Mac renewal deals
My recommendation is to search both for .Mac 5.0 and .Mac 4.0. A lot
of the time you can get the older version (which is no different --
it's just an activation key in a box) for a lower price. (Amazon lists
the 4.0 for $80 where the current version is selling at the $100
MSRP.)
Another trick is to get some friends/family members to pitch in for a
family pack. You can typically find a family pack for around $150
without much searching (I bought one on eBay for $110, so there are
deals to be found). If a few people pitch in a reasonable amount for
one of the 2.5 GB sub-accounts (which, mind you, cost $150/year just a
few months ago!), everyone gets a pretty good deal.
Frankly, I'm surprised this isn't more common. It would be easy enough
for folks on the internet to just sell sub-accounts for $25 or $30 per
year. For us .Mac users who pretty much bought it for iSync, that's a
very reasonable price (and roughly competitive with the non-Apple sync
alternatives), and it would stand to save the "master" account holder
a good bit of change over simply buying a one-year personal
subscription.

But they could not deliver, so back to the search...

Re: .Mac renewal deals
I've had a saved search for a couple of years on eBay for .Mac packages
which I start looking at well in advance of expiration. This year's package
was $65 shipped, which isn't the lowest price I've paid but it wasn't the
highest either. I saw some go by a little cheaper, but I try to stay with
established sellers with good feedback.

Check the price at Amazon again.
.Mac 5.0 is $79.95 plus tax with free shipping.

Is there any downside to buying .Mac boxes and stockpiling them if you
find a good price?
I know .Mac itself won't let you renew with a boxed activation key
until 60 days before expiry. But will the older version's box expire
or something?

Re: .Mac renewal deals
I bought a Family Pack box back in March (for $89 from MegaMacs), and was able to enter the activation key at that time. It appeared at the time to work, extending my membership through October '08 (actually, telling me that my renewal would become effective on October 14, 2007). I just looked at my account, and am actually not sure how to interpret the account info. It says "Below are the renewal settings that will take effect on October 14, 2007 PDT", and there is an activation key already entered in the activation key field. I'm not at home, so I can't go look to see if it's the one I bought in March...I presume it is.

Re: .Mac renewal deals
Hi
I wanted to add another variable into the .Mac renewal deals.
I am in the UK.
Are there any UK versus US renewals issues? Are there UK specific renewal deals that people know about.
Thanks Michelle

Be careful I got stung with a search for family plan, there was a good price
but it turned out to be a single. Amazon error. The made good but in the
mean time I lost one account all the .mac storage. .mac help must be in
Bangladesh or maybe Butane and did not understand the problem and I have yet
to get the files back.
