Tools We Use: Teleport
Víctor Bottacco - 08:24am Aug 23, 2007 PSTGuest UserI have been using Teleport since the first versions available and as
you say it is great. But I have to tell you a couple of things:
pr4 is not from 2004. There have been several minor updates in the
meantime.
An about being incompatible with Leopard you can be safe, because the
forums state that things look good in that direction

You're absolutely right on both counts (I heard back from the author
too), and I've updated the article.

Re: Tools We Use: Teleport
A similar tools is Synergy KM, which lets you use a single mouse and
keyboard to control multiple computers (each needs their own monitor).
This is great for folks in a multi-workstation environment who HAVE
multiple machines with their own monitors and don't want to take the
performance hit of monitor sharing. Synergy KM is open source and
free.

Us Mac folks can also benefit from the SynergyKM PrefPane which give
you a nice GUI to set things up. (Much easier than the command line!)

Re: Tools We Use: Teleport
If you click on the TelePort icon, top-right of the preferences pane, you'll see my name :)
A wonderful thing happened ...... I was daydreaming one day about how I wished you could mouse across screens of multiple computers, like you can across multiple monitors on one machine. I was sure it was possible, but I don't code at that level.
I happened to tell my good friend Dave Sag.
He happened to tell his friend Julien Robert.
Before I knew it, I was being asked to beta-test my idea !!!
What a joy :)
