ProCare

[MichaelGibbs]MichaelGibbs - 02:49am Jul 13, 2007 PST

Perhaps I missed it, but I was expecting a lot more complaining about Apple's changes to the ProCare program. The two offerings that enticed me to buy ProCare were the personal training and the priority Genius Bar support with reservations. By splitting off personal training from the rest of ProCare Apple has essentially doubled the price of the product.

Not that I think whining about it here will have any impact on Apple's plans, but I am surprised at how quietly folks seem to have simply accepted such a dramatic price increase. I guess it's a sign of the program's popularity that Apple feels they can get away with this and that consumers feel that it is still worth the price.

I assumed it was because ProCare is not very well-known or
widely used. I've only heard from it from one (atypical) friend, and
a little here.

I think it's more likely that ProCare users as a group are
upset, but the group is so small it's not registering on most of us.

What's ProCare?

No, seriously, the message complaining about it was the first I ever
heard of it.
