iPhone charging tip

I am now around 24 hours after last charging the iPhone, and the
battery indicator is just barely showing a little black at the right
end. During that 24 hours, iPhone was on full time, used as an
(audio) iPod for about 2 hours, made one outgoing phone call, played
with Google Maps, and did some of the usual new user playing.

How?

1. Wi-Fi off when not in use (and it was in use only briefly to
check for service a couple of places).

2. Actually fully charged the iPhone. One might think, as I did,
that when the big battery is fully green when waking the charging
iPhone, the iPhone is fully charged. Wrong. It's fully charged some
time after that, when the Settings-->Usage items under "Time since
full charge" revert to zero. That was up to 1.5 hours after fully
green battery (I wasn't watching full time--a shower and other duties
intervened).

Note that often under the two values is a sentence about iPhone
having been plugged in since the last full charge xx hours ago--where
xx reached 3 days before I figured out what was up.

Re: iPhone charging tip

Doesn't the battery indicator in the upper right change from showing a lightning bolt (charging) to solid white (fully charged) when it's done?

(Just checked) Yes, it does.

I think the battery changes from a lightning bolt to a plug when it it done.

No, it shows an electrical plug on a white background when fully charged. Hard to discern from the lightning bolt for users with less than acute close vision.

Thank you. When fully charged while plugged in, the battery
indicator is white with a plug-like icon replacing the lightning
bolt. When iPhone is then unplugged, it becomes plain white.

This morning, the interval between the large battery being fully
green and the fully charged state was nearly two hours (with two
phone calls and a few incoming SMS messages during that time).
