MacTech's VBA-to-AppleScript transition guide for Microsoft Office users.

Great news if you live in the US or Canada.

The rest of us with VBA code appear to be stuffed (the overseas
subscription page make no mention of this guide)?

Might make a great "Take Control" title for the rest of the world, though. :)

Mark,

Thanks for the post.

Yes, it's true that the US office of the Macintosh Business Unit of Microsoft is sponsoring subscriptions for US/Canadian residents. We don't have arrangements with other "geo's" (aka offices) in other countries for this program.

Unfortunately, we pay close to $60/year more for delivering/supporting subscriptions overseas, than we do for domestic subscriptions. It comes down to there's just no economical way to mail overseas -- beyond what we're doing now.

That said, we recognize that we wanted to take care of those overseas, so we set up a special discount program for a trial subscription. Instead of $97 for a full year, people can try MacTech for just 6 issues for $44.95. Here's the URL <http://store.mactech.com/microsoft-mactechhomepage>

I hope that answers any questions -- and thank you for your interest and comment!

Thanks, Neil Ticktin Publisher/Editor-in-Chief MacTech Magazine

Neil,

We suffer from having a small subscriber base to The Multihull Society
of BC; The Surrey MUG and The Canadian Astro Assoc Vancouver: leading
to losing money on their black & white monthly rags.

As the clubs all agreed that well written rags were vital to good
membership we instituted the possibility of subscribing to pdf
versions: with full page colour photographs as bait, with sponsor's ads
clickable through to their web sites. While people grumbled like hell
about it, we noticed a surprisingly quick conversion to pdf
subscriptions up to 85% and more sponsors who wanted people to access
their sites. Pdf downloads to the S Pole or to the space shuttle even,
do not cost an extra $60 a year, to the sender, anyway.

The hi-teck sailing multihull club was first out of the gate and first
home in this race; Surrey MUG 2nd and the Federation wide association
that needed it most, was last.

George

To all,

Good news -- we put the guide online today, and there's a PDF option available as well.
