I use Xyle Scope to do my drilling down on odd CSS rendering issues. I found the Firefox Developer extension too oblique for what I wanted. I can code decent CSS by hand (usually in code view in Dreamweaver because of the excellent auto-complete functionality), so Xyle Scope was worth the US$20 to help determine why certain styles would not render as I had intended. If I were looking afresh right now, CSS Edit 2 would merit consideration, since it seems to combine what I like about Dreamweaver's manual CSS coding and Xyle Scope's analysis.
